There is some very special closeness in the streets of Alfama in Lisboa that I have not encountered in any other place on the Earth. In the street hardly wider than 1m the baby was trying to be higher than her age allows her to be. I asked her . . .Como te llamas? She answered me . . .Como te llamas?. . . I told her . . .What a cute baby you are. . . and she responded . . . What a cute baby you are. . . I gave her a kiss and she gave me one back. She understood me well - we share the same curiosity.
The returing is always checking if returner still fits into the place (s)he left. By changing slow and stubborn Belegrade causes the feeling that time stopped the day I left. That is why I dont feel older. I dont feel rejected. I feel Belgrade safely keeps all my favourite places and memories right there where I left them. I must confess, this time again, I have a steady walk expecting that everything is still waiting for me. The rivers are still there. And the bridges. And the winner. And the friends. Couldnt be more grateful to unchangingness for how safe I felt..

ARCHITECTURE
Before I fall in love with architecture, I had a long internal fight. I did not understand cold concrete buildings. They looked massive. Not friendly. They are not painted with hearts on facades like some fairy tales houses. They do not have curvy shapes like Gaudy buildings. Not to mention, the only architect I know back then, was Gaudy. There is nothing impressive to the eye about concrete building. I passed a long way to understand how the architecture is not about replacing historical buildings and making houses from fairy tales. I passed a long way to understand that we appreciate more the ancient buildings due to the story they tell us about the mystery of the time we were not part in. Watching new architecture there is not additional story to tell. We have to wait for time to pass to give the value to the buildings of our age.
This building (Biotehniska fakulteta, Arhitektura Krusec) was the first concrete building that evokes harmony in my laick mind. It just felt right, at the place where it is. It felt it was there for the long long time, eventhought it was not.
This movie is about how architecture speaks to us. This movie is devoted to the building that makes me feel I can be an architect someday. It is about secret life of architectural details.
